If someone gets sick, viruses and bacteria are the ones to blame. What many people do not know is one of the main culprits for various illnesses is stress.

 

How Stress Affects Your Body

 

There are two types of stress: good stress and bad stress. A good stress is one that increases your adrenalin rush and motivates you to do your best. A bad stress is one that damages almost all aspects of your being: physical, mental, and social.

Well, the list can practically go on. Because of these, you want to make sure you get to manage your stress more effectively. But how are you going to do it? Here is a good tip: try to meditate.

 

How Meditation Helps

 

Meditation is no longer an exercise, process, or activity. It has become a lifestyle for many people all over the world. You can find a lot of people who are part of meditation centers. It has been incorporated in other types of exercises such as yoga. Monks meditate for several hours every day. It has been around for thousands of years.

 

What do these pieces of information tell you? Meditation is good for you—and it is true. Physically, meditation can help increase the level of serotonin in the blood. Hence, you will feel much lighter and happier. It calms the tensed nerves by taking in air when you breathe. If you can observe, tensed muscles tend to relax when you breathe out. It can also enhance your immune system. Thus, you become less susceptible to virus and bacteria.

 

Meditation may be performed before you go to sleep. This way, your body is already relaxed, and it is easier for you to doze off.

 

You can also utilize subliminal messages while you are meditating. Subliminal messages can be affirmations you can tap on when you already feel so burned out, and you are almost ready to quit. Some of these subliminal messages can be the following:

 

I can take care of my body.

I have the power to get rid of this stress.

I value my body, which deserves its rest.

I can go to sleep without any worry.

I can face my problems the next day.

 

You can repeat these affirmations or subliminal messages as many times as you can regularly. You will discover that the more you speak of them, the more your mind believes in them. Thus, slowly you are changing the way your mind thinks. Negative emotions caused by stress can be transformed into positive feelings, filled with empowerment, encouragement, and motivation.
